About Jaime

Jaime Brooks cared for her children and dozens more as a nanny for twenty years before earning her bachelor’s in Public Affairs and Criminal Justice from Washington State University. She has been serving at-risk community members as a mentor, social worker, and paralegal for government, non-profit, and private organizations in the Pacific Northwest for over ten years. Jaime is currently pursuing a Permaculture certification at Ecoversity and serving as the Community Manager for Faith Partners in Vancouver, Washington which aims to connect home providers with home seekers to end homelessness.

Ms. Brooks advocates for meditation as a necessary tool to cultivate a cultural renaissance by street performing as a living statue while practicing Taoist-inspired standing, open-eyed meditation. She utilizes this unusual platform to deliver the subtle call for PEACE, HARMONY, and COMMUNITY BUILDING through the symbolism of archetypal characters and the rose, which is offered as a gift to onlookers. This UNIVERSAL SYMBOL OF LOVE, and the INTELLIGENCE OF NATURE is a reminder of the POWER OF THE COLLECTIVE WILL to unite around a noble cause, the restoration of our glorious Mother Earth and ALL her children.

Jaime is the mother of six humans and one cat, a student of philosophy, a devotee of prayer dancing, and a lover of humanity.

A POEM: Who Am I?

BY JAIME BROOKS

I am a Taurus Moon reflecting our Great Mother Earth, a student of life and seeker of wisdom. I am a mother, a cancer Sun, nanny, teacher, baker, crafting home-maker. I am a social working, hand-holding, empathetic listening, trauma seer. I am a living statue, rose giving, street performing, silent watcher. I am a word smithing, gemini rising, contemplative communicator. I am a force for truth, revealer of the realms, dancing in the shadows under the Hawthorne bridge. I am a sister of many drummer brothers whose circles create magical musical miracles. I am free. I am you. I am me. And that’s my story.
